We're back with another ‘Meet the Team’ blog. This time, we’re sitting down with Emergency Call Handler, Ellis. Read on to get an insider's perspective on the Lifeline personal alarm service.

Name:  Ellis

Hobbies: Blacksmithing or just a general walkabout

Can you tell us about your role here at Lifeline24?

I work in the Lifeline Response Centre as an emergency call handler, I answer the calls when our clients press their emergency alarm or whether their fall detector goes off. We also get some general enquiries such as how we operate our procedures. As a team, we also process new customer forms so the profiles of the clients are up to date with all relevant information such as keysafe details, medical and emergency contacts.

How do you feel the Lifeline service helps people?

I feel that Lifeline gives our clients a lot of reassurance that should they fall or need help then someone is there to help. This in turn can help with someone’s anxieties and can really settle the minds of their family

Do you have any advice for someone considering a Lifeline alarm?

My advice would be to not worry if someone was to accidentally set off the alarm! It happens all the time and we are just grateful that they are all ok.

What is the best part of what you do?

I really enjoy doing Reassurance Calls as it gives our clients a bit of company and reassurance that someone is checking up on them

If you had to summarise your time at Lifeline24 in three words, what would they be?

Wholesome, rewarding and fun

What is the first thing you’re going to do when lockdown ends fully?

Get myself on a plane and get in some sunshine abroad!
