Pendant Alarms: A Quick Guide
Pendant Alarms are the perfect solution for elderly or disabled people living on their own. They offer unparalleled peace of mind with minimal intrusion. If you are worried about your own safety, or that of a loved one, a Lifeline Pendant Alarm is perfect for you.
How Do Pendant Alarms Work?
Pendant alarms are small but powerful devices, which can be worn around the wrist or the neck. They are ideal for the elderly, disabled, chronically ill or people who just need a little bit of reassurance to remain independent at home.
Pendant alarms have been proven to be effective. They work as follows:
- The alarm user needs help, so they press the button on the pendant they are wearing.
- Our 24-hour monitoring centre receives an alert call almost immediately.
- The response team try to communicate with the alarm user by speaking to them over the base unit's loudspeaker.
- The response team then arrange help by calling the alarm user's family, friends, neighbours, or the emergency services.

The MyAmie is a small, discreet, and stylish pendant button. It operates using the 869MHz European Social Alarm frequency, which means that it doesn’t interfere with any other medical equipment. This also means that the pendant has a huge range – the user can raise an alarm call in an emergency, even if the base unit is out of reach or in another room.
In response to feedback, Tunstall have developed a very comfortable pendant that is half the size of the previous model, yet the red button is a third larger. The unique oval design means the pendant can be switched around for use with either a wide or a narrow wrist strap, as well as supporting multiple wearing options – wrist, neck, key ring or belt clip.
